Received this set from a friend's mother, she says that it is jade however, I am not sure. The chunks are soldered into the gold cages, was wondering how to clean it and if anyone has seen this type of jewelry before.

Can you upload pictures? Why a PDF?

    Mizz, welcome to the forum!

Very few people will bother to open your pdf file to see the jewelry. Clicking unknown links can be a hazard and many know this. Also in the past pdf files on line were notorious for hiding malware. You could embed that pic into your query by clicking the "Upload a File" at the bottom of the reply window.

I was able to do a print screen of the jewelry pic in the pdf file, crop it, and insert it into this reply.

Looks like 1960s gift store jewelry.
    Probably is jade.
Keep in mind there are different types, as well as quality of jade.

This jewelry was not expensive, more middle of the road.

    Adding:
I was talking about the wire wrapped piece. Not the blob in the center. That looks later. 1980ish.

To clean it, I would put it in a bowl of warm water with Dawn liquid and a couple of drops of ammonia. Won't hurt the metal or jade.

Do NOT do this with pearls or opals.

    Good to know.
I always think of opals as a soft stone, and somewhat fragile.
Since ammonia is a strong cleaner, I would have thought not a good idea.

    Thanks for the link.
