First: Are these Katakana or Hiragana (or Kanji, which I doubt, but...)

The 37th is at the upper right corner of the set, and may be a punctuation mark, or?

The cover of the box shows, at the left edge of the label, what looks like 11 characters inked by a previous owner...perhaps their name, or?

On the left of the Crescent are images of the first 3 stamps in the upper row. Then, at the top of the label are a series of characters that are in an entirely different 'font' (for want of a better word), reminiscent of Korean...almost. I'm a bit puzzled by all of that.

The Star & Crescent symbol I associate with Turkey (the nation)...does that indicate that the Standard Rubber Type Co. is Turkish? I don't think I'm easily confused...but maybe I should reconsider in light of this label.

I haven't looked at all of them, but the few I have examined all show having been used; ink residue on the rubber, and also on adjacent sticks. They may be in original order (those 1st 3 seem to be...) but that may be hard to determine.

They are ~61.5mm long, ~10mm square, and all have an orientation divot on 1 side. The box top is ~5" x ~3".

From 1949 to 1959 Bretton Woods fixed the Yen at 360 to the Dollar...so if these are from that era, they were US$7.92...a lot of money then! (Now, not so much...a gallon of Diesel, more or less).

There! That's quite a bone to gnaw...and I'll express my gratitude up front. Thanks for tuning in, Esteemed folks!

I'm embarrassed to amend the count...to 49. In a past life I was a bookkeeper. Sigh.
