Hi! Was looking at this at the thrift store looks like it may have been a lamp at one time. Sorry about the crappy pictures but maybe someone could tell me if it's Chinese or Japanese? And if anyone could possibly make out the mark with a hole in it lol. It's about 20 to 25 inch tall. TIA everybody!

With that big hole, it's difficult to figure out, but on the basis of the decor and colors (and clothing style in particular) I think it's Chinese. Mid to late 20th c. ?

Well this is one crazy looking vase/lamp! The form is a Kangxi Chinese rouleau form and the mark is more Chinese than Japanese ..however the decoration looks like European Chinoiserie! Weird!

I think this must be a fairly modern piece (1990's+) made for the interior decorator market.
