I picked the little folks up today for $3 apiece.I've seen billions of larger (12" and up) geisha type dolls in cases and free standing, but these are 4 1/2",5" & 6" tall, have no makers mark.I can't tell if they're hard plastic, celluloid, ceramic.
Does anyone here have any opinions or can anyone out there direct me to a decent Japanese Doll forum ?
    As always-Thanks.

    Yes, all Japanese dolls.
The middle guy is kinda weird, I'm not sure what's going on with his legs. I think they should be folded under him.
The lady in front and the man in the back are part of a set. I think the man in the middle belongs to a different set. The set of dolls represents the emperor and empress and their whole court.
On Girls Day, March 3, girls would display their collection and go visiting to see each others dolls.

Three-quarters of my family are from one side of the Adriatic or the other. We did feel damn at-home when we were over there.
