The planter is marked (seems like a stamp) “JAPAN” in red ink. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

These were sold for more decoration purposes. Not very old but still look nice.

Can't help ID but I think the flowers are magnolia.

My first thought is a tree peony. I was given a small "jade tree" by the doctor I worked for in the early 80's. He and his wife would make a trip to San Francisco, stay in a fancy hotel and go on a buying trip, purchasing gifts for all his employees. One of her favorite stores was Gumps. We hit crystal Christmas trees 3 years running, all different sizes. Oh my, memories.

In my research, I have only seen them referred to as “cherry blossoms.” ???

    Not with those large petals.

I think Ivetterli’s idea of tree peony is a better idea!

I think it has too many petals for cherry blossom. It may be shrubby peony, Peonia mountain. Maybe...

The whole thing is about 11” tall and 7” wide.
It’s small enough that it fits perfectly in my little collectibles cabinet. Next? A thorough q-tipping with denatured alcohol. :0

I'd use a can of compressed air on it, then spray window cleaner, works well.

And those are paeonies. Leaf, people, leaf - everything in plant identification!

Good deal! Thanks for the ID. Too bad it’s not worth anything...but I still love it!
