Just bought this lovely little Kogo/incense box with golden chrysanthemum all over the Nashiji ground, hoping it might be the earliest example in my whole collection. The patina and style do give me 18th century vibes. It’s less than 6cm in diameter. What do you think? 40e258e22badeb4f68c610152192aebe.jpeg e40b614a72ef03e4c35d83c3c2234520.jpeg 41c6c4ed243667e4d42be22f8255e242.jpeg 239d9163604071b5efe5696814b54822.jpeg e098d0bad0d10f25d87a4a92f1c59bd5.jpeg acb58c502322e9253091890bf5fd58e6.jpeg 9df789da734b687d6fac3907c293c139.jpeg

The size can also be a good indicator of period fashion unfortunately there are not much similar examples available for online research. Also it seems that Japanese dealers tend to label any tiny box a Kogo:playful: but for European antiques they have pill box, patch box, trinket box, etc…
