    Hi all Happy Friday.
I've had this tea caddy for several years and have wondered what this this figure is doing.I keep thinking looking at herself in a hand mirror? Also wondering if it is older than 1940's as I originally thought?

This isn't a tea caddy - it more than likely held a stack of coasters.

Pretty sure it isn't a hand mirror, (almost always circular) ...I've seen those things but can't recall what they are called

    Fly swatters?

Seriously, why couldn't it just be a fan?

I don't think it was for tea. I had a set of coasters in a lacquer box like this a long time ago.

We used the coasters so much they deteriorated.

There is a sort of racket game played by Japanese girls that uses these paddle-like things.

Measurements would have helped figure out if it was coaster-size.
