Japanese porcelain markings

    I apologize if I ought to have posted this into an existing thread.

    I am hoping for help in identifying the markings on this piece of porcelain. I believe it is Japanese, as my relative, who gifted it to me, resided in Japan in the 1920s.

    Any help would be immensely appreciated.

    Greetings, Nancy! Starting your own thread was absolutely the right thing to do. It would be a good idea to add a side-view picture of the whole item, though!

    I think it's Chinese. I only figured out the two characters on the left, Chang Chun.
