Japanese Post Cards in Folder; Huge Buddha, Etc: Pre-War?

There are 8 postcards, each with a face-legend. I don't believe the Buddha is that at Kamakura, bicbw. 3 other scenes may be related to it; possibly of construction of the platform upon which Buddha was later placed. Others are apparently associated, but I'm not at all sure of that. All pics below are of Buddha...others will be in a following posting. Pic 2 is at the foot of the folder's inner flap.



I'll be grateful for any clarification about these postcards, their folder, an' their legends (captions?); all your comments are most welcome. Thanks for lookin'!

It was the Great Buddha at Beppu, constructed in 1928, "one of the first concrete Buddha statues and one of the tallest structures in Japan at its construction at 24 meters. Tourists could enter the three-story structure to view more statues, replica temples, and statues of Buddhist deities." It was demolished in 1989 due to irreparable deterioration.
