Japanese Sake? Jug, Wrapped & Tied in Reed, Plenty Marks

    At the bottom of pic 2, it says 1.8L...Thats it for english. ~6 inches diameter, ~8 inches tall, weighs ~68 ounces. The ceramic is brown, with a clear glaze. No aroma. Could be Shoyu, Sake, Fish sauce. The 1.8L seems to indicate export potential...maybe that's why I've got it, empty! The little red wrappers on strings could be seals; y'gotta cut 'em in order to unwrap the inner cask.
    Clever folks, th' Japanese!

    I'd like to know what was in it...all the rest of the text isn't so important. The big X with 4 dots may be a brand or trade mark.
    (Sure...what else?)
