    Hello Art Experts,

I have acquired a Japanese silk screen type art. The picture definitely looks silk screened on a very high thread count fabric. I do not read the language so any translation is helpful. I believe the artist's mark is on the bottom of the piece and is wrapped around the frame, covered by old deteriorating masking tape. The piece is held in place with sharp metal triangles.

Any help with date, artist and style is greatly appreciated!

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Others who know more about this may be here soon. I'm just wondering how much it has been damaged by the frame and the tape! If you are keeping it you might want to remove it from the frame ASAP.

It looks like a ukiyo-e image, but those were wood block prints on paper (usually). I have found a site advertising silk handkerchiefs (pocket squares) printed with Japanese images: https://shibumi-firenze.com/pocket-...ilk-pocket-square-nagare-handrolled-40-x-40cm
It might be worth unframing to get the actual dimensions, and to see if there is any company mark on it. The framing job certainly looks like an after market affair.
