Japanese tea bowl? signature but ??

    I think this is a Japanese tea bowl.. it is signed but no clue what it says. It measures 4 7/8" diameter, 3" high and from what I see that could be about the correct size. They vary widely. Thanks for thoughts!! teabowl1.jpg teabowl.jpg

    Seems a little large for a tea bowl. Rice bowl maybe?

    Posted on a Japanese ceramics board on FB. I usually don't get an answer or it takes months. This is what I found out and yes it is a tea bowl. The impressed mark reads 仁清 Ninsei. This is a Japanese, Kyo-yaki ware, produced in Kyoto.
