Japanese treasure ship ?

    Hi all. Picked this up mainly because it weighs a ton and something niggled at me saying "Japanese cast iron good" . Google says its a treasure ship of the gods but I couldnt find any real answers as to age . I think its been painted eleventy million times with some radiator paint ! Its has a lovely smell,I think it was part of someones home shrine. any input is always appreciated .

    Im itching to dip it in some stripper ! Id love for it to be bronze under that paint.
