I need the help and brainstorming power of the forum to help me decipher all this.
013-PAINTING-WATERCOLOR-JAPANESE-MOUNTAIN-FARM-883W-1000H.jpg The painting itself is on a heavy piece of white cardboard with a gold border which measures 10.75" ht. by 9.5" wide. It is matted and framed. The frame measures 14.50" ht. by 13.25" wide.

The glass is missing and the painting has some damage (scratches and poked holes in the cardboard and some brown spots on the paper here and there).

The subject matter is forested mountains, farm fields and buildings and stick-figure people walking around.

It's very muted and subdued, color wise. Just black, grey, pale green and yellowish-tan.

Hi, I cannot help much, but this could be very well Chinese instead of Japanese. The only thing I think I can understand is a cyclical date in the very right column directly above the red seal, which would correspond either to 1924 or 1984, with 1984 as the most likely candidate. The rest I have to leave to others...

    Some bit of information...
Top right seems like a date, Showa 59 so maybe 1984; month maybe January?
At the end of the poem a name of a mountain is mentioned.
Not 100% sure but it looks like it says "Iwaigameyama", which is known as the "Matterhorn of Tohoku".
It's located in Yamagata prefecture and is 1417m high.
Don't know who it's by since the handwriting is hard to read.
