Japanese Wild Goose Painting By Shugetsu

Saw this today at the local TS but did not get it because the tag on the back reminds me of the one seen on decorative pieces sold at department stores. Do you think that is the case?

It could be the real thing and still have one of those decorator tags. A lot of higher end department stores sold real art and antiques at one point in the game. I'm wondering if the name they give is the location rather than the artist.

Reproduction. Of decorative value only. I do believe Shugetsu is a place name, not artist...but may be wrong.

Following is a link to a Japanese scroll artist site. It lists names of scroll artists. One listed is

"Fukada Chokujo (1861-1947)：
Fukada Chokujo was a painter from Meiji to early Showa era.Fukdada Chokujo learned painting from Morikawa Sobun.
His pseudonym is Shugetsu"

Either search the page for Shugetsu using Ctrl+F or scroll down the page hardly 1/4th of the way to "What is a genuine signature?" It is followed by blocks of text in yellow, green, pink & blue. Just below the blue text blocks is "Artists in research include the following:" The 1st listed artist is Chokujo/Shugetsu.

Searching the name Shugetsu, there seems to be several artists with a name relating to or containing the name Shugetsu.
