DSC_2320.jpg Hey all antiquers! We've got this woodblock, it is signed, and the gold has a nice reflection/glitter to it. We know very little about this piece, please share any info you might know!

As both the title and image itself demonstrate, that is Kinkakuji 金閣寺, the famous Golden Pavilion in Kyoto.

The main stamps, including one forbidding reproduction, are by Uchida, the Kyoto woodblock printer.

The small Ni stamp apparently represents Nisaburo, but I don't see his embossed stamp on your print.

This probably uses micaceous ink to achieve the effect.

Makes sense. Mica wouldn't oxidize and go dark the way metal in the ink would.
