Could not find a good fit with what was listed so posted here. Thanks, Supposed history: Emperor gift. Carved of bamboo and words are written in gold and silver wire by Taisen Nakonisi. Presented to the emperor Meji by the city of Kamamoto in Kyahsa western most island of Japan in the 42nd year of the emperors reign. This comes directly from Owen D Mort's person collection of African and Japanese art given by Senator Hugh D. Scott along with several Persian antiques.
