Can anyone interpret the symbols. Old carved bamboo with gold and silver inlay. Most likely will post in the auction house after I learn more about it. Any help identifying this would be great. Could not find a good fit with what was listed so posted here.

    Thanks,

    Supposed history:
Emperor gift. Carved of bamboo and words are written in gold and silver wire by Taisen Nakonisi. Presented to the emperor Meji by the city of Kamamoto in Kyahsa western most island of Japan in the 42nd year of the emperors reign. This comes directly from Owen D Mort's person collection of African and Japanese art given by Senator Hugh D. Scott along with several Persian antiques.

Welcome Twinbrow. Gorgeous Ruyi. It looks Chinese to me, in which case @JayBee can probably help.:)

Just so he can read it, and the others can enjoy its beauty:

And supposed documentation doesn't trump history... and I"ll leave Trump out of it unless you're talking Bridge or Roger Zelazney.
