I think it is a newer piece with a nod to an older look. Pretty, though.

I was thinking maybe older beads refurbished?

The clasp does look newer. My first thought was that it's a piece that a craftsperson put together using older components.

Agree with Lucille, although it could be older beads used or re-used.

if I would list it, how would I go about listing it? recycled plastic bead?

I would not mention "recycled" because you cannot confirm that.

Did you search everywhere on the backs of the metal for a maker's mark?

In my re-evaluation, I think it's a newer piece made that way from the start. I base my WAG on the 2 center pieces having obvious attachments on the sides and bottoms.

I don't think so. Too long

You didn't describe the beads, yet later you mention plastic. Strung on plastic fishing line?
It helps us help you if you give a description of materials.

If these are plastic beads, this is a new import from China.
I see a lot of this type of jewelry at the gift show Cash and Carry.

It looks brand new to me too; I'm finding a lot of similar pieces in the thrifts. They look old at first glance but really aren't. They probably sell pretty well locally, odds are. If you're going to sell it, I'd do it locally. These modern unsigneds have never done well for me on line.

    Festoon :)

What are the beads made of? Plastic, right?

H&M came out with a version by Lanvin, I don't know when... On ebay. They call it "chandelier"

    The spruce on festoons:

a garland... hung in a curve as a decorative element or incorporated as an architectural feature... Other elements such as dangling drops may be incorporated, but without the swags, a necklace does not qualify as a festoon.

... Popular during the Georgian period (1714–1830s), carrying over into the Victorian era (1837–1901). Some of the more elaborate fashionable black necklaces (not meant for mourning) made during this period incorporated swags of jet beads. Bohemian garnets and other materials were also used.

Festoon necklaces were popular during the Edwardian era (1901–1910) as well. These featured a return to more delicate chains in the designs or elements reflecting the garland style with ribbons, flowers, and bows.

Overkill, sorry - But the eras and jet or black jewelry not always being for mourning was good to know.
