Jewelry w/ Coat of Arms - ID Help Please

    Trying to identify the word on this coat of arms on these two brooches. They are not silver, the round brooch has an old C clasp, the key has a rollover clasp, got each piece in a different lot of jewelry I think from UK. Three castles on coat of arms.     Okay, hubby just figured out the word, it is Libertas, and the coat of arms is for San Martino in Italy. Guessing these are souvenir pieces?

    Congratulations, Jaime, you have been given the key of San Marino, the smallest republic in the world!:playful:
    Yes it is the coat of arms of San Marino, without a t.:) It is surrounded by Italy, but it is an independent state.

    The clasps don't narrow down the age in this case. The crest is the old one, but that is just a historic refence, not something to date it by either.
    My guess would be 1960s, but that is just a guess.

    That would be my my guess too; it's souvenir jewelry of a sort that died out in the 1970s as best I can recall.
