Featured John Nelson Carved Bird

Hello all. I picked up this little folk art bird at the Thrift today. I did not see the signature until I looked at the pictures. It is signed John Nelson. He is kind of known for his bird art. Just thought you miht like to see one. I found some on eBay selling between $25 and $40. I just really liked it and it is a keeper (for now). Just thought I'd share. BTW it was $2.22 at the thrift.

I think I'll get some old English furniture polish and give it a once over.
That whitish area on the bottom was the store tag.

 

For two bucks and change, birdie needed to fly off with you. He's even cat-proof; he doesn't smell like "bird".
