Featured Jug with impasto decor

Picked this up today. I'm struggling to ID it. There is a reverse capital B (I think) on the base. It reminds me of Rookwood but I don't think the mark supports this. H=22cm

 

To my eye it could as easily be an 8.

 

Or, looking at it 180 degrees from posted...a capital B?

 

Except it would be unusual to have the upper loop be larger than the lower one. But surely not an impossibility.

 

It could indeed. On closer inspection there is a a faint line on the right that defines the full curviness of a numeric 8.

Edit or is that just a crazing line

 

Would be quite a funky B but I guess anything goes with signatures

 

Nice Chin-Seems a bit Aesthetic to me (a guess).

 

Could be Burmantofts/Leeds Art Pottery. There’s some examples that look very similar to yours. I’ve got a pair of Leeds Art Pottery vases that I’ll photograph tomorrow that remind me very much of your piece.
