Probably made in China or India

Native Americans did not make jewelry until there were tourists

Welcome to the Forum, Suezq! :)
You’ll likely get the right people to see this, if you start a thread in Jewelry Forum. Maybe add some more photos, too. :)

Welcome, Suezq. My thought is it looks neither Native American nor mid-19th century. What gives you reason to think so?

    Welcome to the board.
Please don't take our comments the wrong way.
We are trying to help you learn.

The stones look like polished stone chips you get out of a grab bag.
Native Americans from the 1850s would not have had access to that kind of stone, nor would they have used them Not to mention the "silicone" glue that is poorly applied.

You missed it by a couple of centuries, the Iroquois were making silver pieces in the 18th century copying European pieces..... http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20705

Are there any maker's marks or other marks on the back of the piece.Looks like originally it had round stones in the bezels and were replaced with tumble polished stones.

I think Hollyblue is right about the original stones are gone from the bezel settings.

It is an unusual setting, imo - I like it.

    You mean "ball chains" ?

I posted this piece a while back - there's info on jewelry from the 30s using ball chain, but your bracelet is a different style. I don't know if bangle is the correct term for that style bracelet?

    Utilitarian Muff Chain?

    Welcome to the forum, Suezq.
It is a fairly common bracelet, a souvenir from the Middle East, although similar ones were made in India, probably to be traded to souvenir shops in the Middle East. I think large scale production began in the 1960s, the Hippie Trail and all that.
They are pretty, but here in Europe I can't even give them away.:(

Wow so many responses ..Thank you ..well I knew it was old Perhaps the hippie in me was drawn to it . Looks beautiful on , lays perfect had a black patina that was scrubbed off as some of the cleaner is still visible and yes the glue thing had me puzzled my pictures are too large , only able to post the one ? Do you think the folks in the Mideast may have brought a native American copy home and many many years later decided to reproduce it? If so that means I may have a original!!

They are still making these, there is no telling how old it is.
No, because it is a very West Asian style that doesn't resemble Native American jewellery in any way.;)
