KARLSRUHE VASE, how old?

just picked up this unusual vase by Karlsruhe. Any idea of age? This has a very Scandinavian look

I think this is what they call 'Mid century Modern'.

 

Well this factory was so prolific i was just wondering if someone recognised the design and possibly get clues as to the designer, age etc. I kind of guessed 1950's or 60's but it would only be a guess and i think they are still producing today?

 

Hi, yes i am aware its a German Factory. and they have been around for quite a long time. The design reminds me of the Scandinavian styles of the late 50's/60's.I've nearly gone blind trying to find a vase like this but had no luck yet! I'll keep on looking as i think this is rather nice.

 

I was a weird kid who hung out in Scandinavian design stores in the '60s and '70s (and later too, but no longer a kid) - similar illustration-like decoration was very popular in that era. Would expect to see a signature, but might look to see if Scandinavians like Kari Nyquist, Turi Gramstad Oliver, Bjørn Wiinblad, etc. did any work for Karlsruhe (reminds me most of the 'Kari' pieces). I know Wiinblad designed for Rosenthal, but suspect yours may be just done in the manner of better known Scandinavian artists - I agree, it's rather nice...

I've just banged this one on Ebay as i really have had a fraught few days and am not in the mood for lots more research. Hopefully it will find its own level.
