Hello again! I happened upon this Hollywood regency KC mirror....is this still a favorable piece for resale? Would anyone be so kind as to look on worthpoint?

I've also been hearing mcm furniture is dropping in values ...thoughts?

I have not seen on this site where anyone has so far mentioned MCM is on a downturn....

 

I haven't seen on this site but I saw an article the other day that said it was fading out of favor (Not that THAT meant anything). Just wondering what other's experiences have been. I would think that in places like Palm Springs, etc, that it would never go out of style.....

Not our experience here but we are always behind the trends. Did just read an article the other day about how the style is waning. Couldn't find the exact article but, by searching the topic, came up with several. This article is a year old and the others I found went as far back as 2018.

Other publications continue to tout the style and Architectural Digest featured the style earlier this year.

Was able to find the same article on MCM decor I read the other day. It is a more recent and documented point of view.

Hey lovelies! So I added some actual pics of the KC mirror I just bought at auction....of course I'm a bit disappointed as the frame was not in as good of shape as I'd hoped (not sure if these can be/are worth it to get restored??) Of course the detailed pics weren't in auction listing.....go figure.
Anyways, I paid $100 for it hoping to flip it....I spoke to a consignment shop in Seattle and they said they'd only list it for $100-$150 (!!!!) Thoughts?? The worth point values were MUCH higher. Thinking I might have lost my butt on this one.

 

that much damage would turn me off it in a heart beat.....

Yes SUPER bummed about the damage on the frame. Now I get to cut my losses!
Yes, I could turn around, butt no one needs to see that LOL!

My profile pic was taken when that old tractor was NEW, and that kitty was still with us. sadly he's been gone for 3 1/2 yrs now.....Good 'ol Jonesy!

 

The damage really makes this mirror a hard sell. Would think you need to make a presentable repair before you can even attempt to recoup your cost.
