Kind of over the top brass and marble tables - can you read this word?

I picked up two of these tables yesterday. They are extremely heavy - I can't tell if the bases are solid brass or maybe brass over cast iron. The marble is stamped made in Italy. I am hoping that the hand written word on the top of the table under the marble is the maker's name. Can anyone read it?

    Hi,
Saw lots of these type of tables in Italian areas of Brooklyn. Looks like a Greek type of name, perhaps the owner, or the name of the store that sold them??? Try a magnet, they look like gilded iron.

They are fairly new aren't they? If in doubt see how long legs attached etc, think you know better than I how to guess age. Look like well-made usable tables in any case.

I'd love to know how you actually picked them up. ;)
