Featured King Tut wax

    Found this pendant wax while spring cleaning and trying to down size the number of mystery boxes which haven't been opened for years.

    Very beautiful, Holly. Do you have any idea how old it is?
    Looks like a wax model for a cast metal piece.:)
    On the finished pendant the bar attached to the faux beard would have been removed, it was just added so there would be a channel for the molten metal to get inside the beard part of the mold during the casting process.

    The sprue on the beard says it's for metal casting.

    I found the mold for the piece at college 30 years ago,no idea how old the original pendant was.

    It is beautiful. Could be as old as the 1920s, not long after the tomb was found.
