Featured King Tut's Necklace featuring a mystery 'unknown stone' ?

While glancing at Bulldogs Post re a Monet Trifari Egyptian Choker/Choker,I saw this mentioned in an article referencing the 2008 Tut Exhibit coming to San Francisco-
"The exhibition will also include a selection of artifacts that are new to the traveling exhibition including an elaborate pectoral necklace that features a yellow-green carved stone of unknown origin that is thought to be millions of years old."
That one phrase seems incredibly vague-'yellow green stone of unknown origin that is thought to be millions of years old'.
This is probably the most studied Archaeological find since the Rosetta Stone,the Tombs of Ur and Goebekli Tepe,and the 'stone's' origin,age & mineral content are still a mystery ?
This sounds like more like a script from a Mummy Movie than 100 years of scientific-surely there's more information on the 'mystery stone'.

 

Do you know which necklace it was?
I wonder if the stone was amber. The Egyptians used Baltic amber, which came to Egypt through the Amber Road, a north-south trade route across Europe to the Mediterranean.

 

Sorry AJ- Haven't researched it yet.Mostly surprised by the most unscientific description of the artifact.

Ah that's Libyan glass, a tektite. I have a Libyan glass pendant, it is not that rare but very nice.
Tektites are most likely formed by meteorite impact in sand. They are found worldwide and usually named after the location they are found in, Moldavite, Javaite, Darwinite, etc.

So it's a Tektite,a byproduct of a meteorite impact in the Libyan Desert.

Now, now ... everyone knows that the green-yellow stone found in the desert formed when ancient aliens used the area as a landing zone, or when one of their ships blew up, or when one of them had the extra extra hot sauce and spewed fire all over the desert.

 

Or the Aliens got cheesed off when they stepped in dog poop one time too many and ZAP?
