Can you get a picture of the mark, please?

Normally Nippon (the Japanese word for the country of Japan) was not used on export items after 1921 (when the USA required country of origin on all imports.) L & Co would be the importer.

Should be English retailer Liberty & Co., they were heavy importers of Japanese wares from the 1890s well into the the 20th century...

In the U.S., the McKinley Tariff Act of 1890 required the origin of all foreign goods and packaging be 'marked, stamped, branded or labelled' in English, and in 1921, required 'Nippon' be changed to 'Japan'.

The pattern name is "Tree in the Meadow" - (why it's called that I don't know. I would have thought Tree by the Lake would have been more appropriate)

Anyways first done by Morimura Bros. who later became Noritake.
There are many versions and many copies. Many different qualities of painting, color and overall design.

Can we see the mark please.
It may be an importer's mark and not the maker.

Yours appears to be of the better quality.

See how the "sticker" or is it really a mark?, is applied over the glaze, generally that is the importer's mark

That particular plate has no value as it has been glued back together. I would still leave it with the set.
However, if you are selling the set, you need to disclose damaged pieces, this includes chips.

Thanks. Have listed it as some items broken and glued back together.
What do you reckon it’s worth?

As you can see not much is selling.

    Edited
The link doesn't take you to the completed page.
Do a search on ebay for
    Japan tree in the meadow
Left column go down to Completeds and click that.
