Featured La Monk Native American Portrait, tribal affiliation

A goodwill find, painted by Charles Samuel la Monk
And signed la monk AICA.
American Indian And cowboy Art association.
14" x 18" not including frame.
I am pretty sure that is what it stands for as Listed artist
Alfredo Rodriguez was also a member.
My main question is the tribal affiliation this portrait is?
Charles painted a lot of native American portraits. From the US Southwest to Central mexico and the Tarahumara tribe.
Any thoughts on this will be helpful.

I don't see any distinctive features in costume or hairstyle that I recognize.

 

So he could be just classified as just N/A.

I looked for other paintings by the same artist to see if any were identified by tribe, and didn't find any that were. So it is probably safest just to say Native American.

 

Only found the same info you already have and paintings that strongly resembles yours (but not specifics given as to another tribe) General descriptions used like painting of a “Mexican American Indian” or “Earthbound Tarahumana Indian’ and canvas paintings of Native Americans.
