I can't find any visible signature. I don't want to take it out of the frame because it looks recently framed. I don't think it is something special but the paper appears to have some age.
You think I should open it?
    Thanks

I find that watercolors are rarely signed anywhere but in the work. That said, I am always a sucker for the one time there is information elsewhere and usually open them. The glass can usually use a cleaning anyway and they are not all that hard to put back together. If there is a paper dust cover, I slice it on three sides so that it can hang in place once the work is reassembled. I don't usually tape it back since I figure potential buyers want to have a look anyway. If it is damaged, I just remove it.

    Hi Brad,
Thank you for a great idea/hint.

That is exactly what I do. If the backing paper is old and torn I remove it. If not I cut along the edges and leave the top uncut. If I don't find signature I may use paper tape to seal the paper.
I will go ahead and open this one and see what will pop.

Took it out of the frame. Could not find a siggy. The paper is laid over another one so I am not able to check the verso.
    Mid century, later, earlier?
    thanks
