Lane Altavista Virginia Desk

Can anyone help me with some info about this desk please? It's a Lane desk. September 29th 1972 plant #4 style 7079 06. Not a clue what it's value is or what it's used for! It's in great shape too! Thanks!!

Unless maybe meant as a small bar........can you open the doors below as well?

 

All those holes on the inside don't look very desk-like to me. Some kind of bar item perhaps?
