Featured Laotian Akha Basket-maybe ????

    Found this 11 inch long basket w/ a 22 inch long strap.Possibly made by the "ngha" tribe (or Akha Eko people) of Northern Laos.
    Prob screwed something up in this attribution, but who knows ?

    Thanks AJ-This one is a keeper (like the shred of fabric tied around the strap).

    Nice basket. You did alright with the identification - Akha people, from the northern border region between Myanmar and Laos. The wooden back serves as a sheath for a knife, although I cannot find any photos or drawings of how these were actually used.
