    I don't understand those specks. I cannot find the dark blue with darker blue speckled stone anywhere, thus far.

    Somewhere around here I have a brooch with what looks like a large tawny speckled jasper cabochon in it. It's glass, & not long after acquiring it saw the same thing in blue for sale. It's a well made piece, can't recall whether or not sterling. Silver is not particularly expensive now. It used to be quite common to find sterling holding glass gems. A favorite ring of my teens was just such a thing.

    The blue on blue mottling is not like anything I know in nature, as flipper said.
