This reminds me of the set of Swedish-looking dipped 1990's glasses I posted last month that were vintage Pier One. Same thrift store, so who knows? Maybe same former owner. (Note: thrift tag still attached.)

There is a lot of glass in this, 14" high, 4.5 lbs. Hand blown, pontil is polished. Unsigned. The green glass over layer raps around the front and up the back.

What do you think about this piece? Does it merit any further research?

Chosen deliberately to invoke an MCM Andy Warhol vibe.

It could be an Murano piece.

looking at this i don't think its murano as the base does not look right, this could be Chinese as they are producing some very heavy glass with design features of earlier retro Scandic and European glass, i saw a piece last week that had the same flanges and shape of Mdina glass but with a graduated clear colour with different shades of blue. Very pop art looking.

    Thank you Fenton and Susie,

I was thinking Scandinavian if anything, but probably Chinese the more I think about it.

Susie, I don't know if you saw the post about the Pier One Scandi-inspired glasses, it must be my week for getting dipped or layered glass. Slightly different, actually I have a set of these, like them a bit better than the vase.
