I'm thinking plated, particularly in the Fontainbleau link there seems to be copper showing through on the high points of the medallion.
I would expect a sterling bracelet to have soldered links.

    Hi, clasp is missing.

Do you think it's worth a good clean up

Cleaning silver never hurts. Won't take long, doesn't look too tarnished.

If no clasp, a closer look at the back of one of the ovals.

Photos were taken without flash, so doesn't look very silvery in pics

It's not magnetic, and scratch test on an oval, shows no base metal

What kind of age do you think ?

If that "bug" in the lower area of 1st picture is attached, it would be a clue to the manufacturer. I did a quick scan of the site that id's jewelry by hang tags and dangles but didn't spot that one. Maybe someone will be along that could identify from that.

It might be silver, but it's definitely a French souvenir bracelet.

Yeah, that does seem to ring true about being a souvenir bracelet, I doubt it is silver, if it is a souvenir bracelet

The "bug" is a bee which is the symbol of Napoleon's empire, not a manufacturer's mark.

Souvenir bracelet which commemorates Napoleon's association with the royal residence of Fontainebleau. Site of his abdication.

That makes sense, as I thought the portrait looked like napoleon

That's because it is. I figured that and the bee went without saying.

All those French lessons in high school and college come in handy occasionally....

    Not necessarily true.
If this is from the 1950s-70s, silver was still considered a cheap metal. You could still buy sterling souvenir spoons for just a few dollars. A sterling souvenir bracelet would not have been unusual.

I'll have it checked out then in that case, just to make sure, the ovals are quite thin compared to the other French souvenir bracelets I've found, so fingers crossed
