Hello Board Friends - I recently acquired this large bowl but I know very little about it. I think it cobalt and orange cased glass cut to clear. The bowl measures about 12 1/4" across and about 2 1/4" deep. It doesn't look like most European or American cut glass I'm familiar with. Thank you for your help!
    Don

    That's beautiful! 14 panels...a bit unusual division.

Beaut-A real eye-dazzler ! Seems an unusual color combo to me,but my knowledge on cut glass is minimal.

Orange is my most unfavorite color.

For this, I'll make an exception!

I am assuming there are thin layers of glass - at least that's what it looks like to me. I bought it at auction so I don't know anything about its background. It was advertised just as a cobalt and ruby cut to clear bowl.

Thank you, everyone, for your responses and comments. I'm gradually clearing this big old house out but this bowl can hang around for a bit! I think I've found a nearby retirement community that will suit me. I've given myself five years to divest myself of the contents of this place but that timeline may prove optimistic. :hilarious: I've cut back on my buying quite a bit but still can't resist certain pieces.
