Featured large Leti statue

Just bought this Leti (Indonesian Island(s)) statue last week. It is about 95 cm high. I just wondered wheter the bird (i think) on it's head might identify which (type of) ancestor this is. I did find one other Leti statue with bird on head, but that site didn't give any more information about its meaning.
Also interested in any ideas about age and possible worth. I really love it, and paid quite a bit!, but because of it's size I can't find a good place for it yet. So I might have to sell it again.

 

Leti had castes. The higher the caste of the deceased, the more elaborate the ancestor sculpture.
I don't know the specific meaning of the bird in Leti, or eastern Maluku in general. Could be a clan symbol.
In other parts of Indonesia birds and flying dogs, etc, had a spiritual, mystical or psychic meaning. Maybe the birds were for Shamans?

That's a nice on AJ! It's titled: sculpture (vsa). VSA probably a museum, anyone knows which? I am hoping the original picture has some more information.
