I found a second heavy, beautifully-made, art glass piece yesterday, but I have been unable to come even close searching for information about it. So I am asking for some help here with search terms or other identification. Since I have been studying the bowl to discover its secrets, I will share my observations so you can use them too:
    • The bowl is reddish-violet with a clear outer edge that has had gold colored flakes added to it
    • The edge is not ruffled but pinched in.
    • The controlled bubbles swirl up from the center area
    • The bottom is cut and polished
    • The "ribs" vary in length and start at the base and go almost to the top creating a starburst pattern when you look directly into the center
    • It is not round or oval and the width is 9 3/4 inches in diameter in the middle but 7 inches toward the outside edge
    • The diameter of the length is 11 inches at the longest point
    • It is 2 1/2 inches high
    • It weighs 3.6 pounds or 1651 grams
Any help will be appreciated. I am eager to learn.

After a lot more searching, I am now convinced that this is similar in many regards to a Barovier piece, especially the use of "gold" flakes around the edge, the color, the weight and the clear glass rim. I have seen these features in many of their works, though nothing yet that matches. I may have to be satisfied with this, as this is obviously to me a hand made piece and perhaps, a one off. Thank you all for your comments and those who looked to see if they could help. Most appreciated.

Update: I heard back from Barovier&Taso and they said:
    "Hello,

    Thank you for your message.
We are sorry but we do not believe these pieces are authentic Barovier&Toso items.
We cannot identify them as pieces that our company manufactured in the past years.
    Best regards."

So I am back to searching. :)

Still, it’s nice they responded. Back to the drawing board!
