Large Ships Lantern/Brass & Bronze/ Chinese or Japanese ?

    Any guesses where this item came from & it's use ? It's about 2 foot tall & heavy,seems to be made of sheet bronze/brass,it's got 2 top receptacle holes for
    poss gas,carbide or electrical lines.
    It's got an industrial weight & build about it.
    It's unmarked,seems to be Asian & could be nautical .The top hanger loop is solid & heavy.
    Inside the body there's clip receptacles that may have held mica or glass lenses.Thanks for any opinions.

    Not sure it's nautical either,darn big-maybe for a building,good-sized house or factory.What kind of line do you think went into those 2 round top knobs ?...seem too big for just vents.
