LARGE US NAVY SHIELD - REAL?

    I found this yesterday at a local thrift store - is it real or decorative?
    It's fairly large & heavy - was hoping it came out of a nco club or something?

    Looks like a decorative item to me, but I bet @springfld.arsenal will have a better idea.

    The OP's photo is a chief petty officer insignia, the bottom ebay link has a master chief insignia.
