Being from Minnesota, amongst the Nordic hordes, I picture Viking treasure stash as a humpback trunk full of lefse and lutefisk.

They went far enough south to see flamingos?

Latkes aren't Nordic, they're Jewish food (at least in my experience.)

You are correct, but raggmonk didn't follow the whole "L" thing Terry had going on.

Not that latkes wouldn't be yummy with Swedish meatballs.... They're certainly good with sauerbraten, but that's German rather than Scandinavian.

Flamingoes do inhabit the old world, Southern Europe and Asia.

    Awesome awesome stuff...just incredible...

BTW Here's an interview with the guy that found that Mass. three shilling coin Davey posted about a little while ago. Another AMAZING find.
Vid. put out by Minelab. I use a Minelab. Interesting in the end he mentions his "Propointer" pinpointer...a Garret Metal Detectors product.

Now that's how you put some money in the retirement fund. How much does the government take off the top?

Its tax free, he gets the market value or what is paid.
Its the same with our lottery, you get it all what you win tax free all in one lump sum.

    Hi Davey,
Again, I am coming over with a new detector to scour the British Isles.

Oh man, I'd love to see that stuff when it's all cleaned up. What a find! I think when I'm next across the pond, I'll see if my brother would like to take up metal detecting -- he lives in Scotland. ;)

If I did it, chances are I'd find less than what I paid for the metal detector.

The Vikings had colonies in Southern Italy, and roved as far as Turkey. No problem with Flamingoes.

He sounds like the Beatles. Loondon, coom instead of come. Love the accent.
