Found these great old bookends, are covered in leather and have brass doorknocker lions of the front of each one. The leather is messed up on the side of one, looks like someone put tape on them at some point, leather is not torn, just discolored. Wondering if anyone could help me with a period or style on these? TIA. 20200522_142225.jpg 20200522_142321.jpg 20200522_142243.jpg 20200522_142333.jpg 20200522_142255.jpg 20200522_142347.jpg 20200522_142404.jpg

Those are likely to be 1970s or a bit earlier. That Lion w/ Ring motif was popular then.

I would not date yours very early.
I'm thinking more 1990s or later.
Look at the difference of detail.
Still attractive and useful. Just not as old as you would have liked. Sorry.

Don't see any reason why yours won't be Florentine. (Here's another example.) Think 1950s a bit early though.

Anything 'Regency style' still sells well.

Nice set. I agree, Florentine. One of those Florentine Renaissance-inspired designs.
