No marks found. Not sure if I should call it bronze or copper. I know there are hundreds of Lincoln bookends out there. I am finding similar but not quite the same. I guess maker would not matter and little value?
    Thanks

Maybe they are doorstops instead of bookends.

If they are really bookends, they'd have to be one piece each from each of two sets, because when you put books between them on a shelf, only one Abe is facing the user, the other one is facing the back of the shelf, which you don't expect with bookends.

They look like cast copper. I wonder if they're made from pennies.

If u make a deep scratch underneath u'd probably find out they were copper-plated spelter. I'd bet ya on it.

They are probably copper plated. I see some grayish base metal. But is not it spelter light weighted alloy? Each piece is about 4 pounds and 8 ounces, 7" tall. Must be some other metal.

Spelter is mostly zinc. We cannon-shooters use zinc for making cannon balls to shoot since the density is just a little less than that of cast-iron (original cannonballs) but zinc is much easier to melt and cast. Zinc has density of abou 7.2, cast iron about 7.9, only about 10% difference. Most people would have trouble "feeling" the weight difference between cast iron and zinc aka spelter when holding an object. Spelter may often have other metals alloyed with it, in addition to the zinc.
