    Hi all,

I'm trying to piece the puzzle together on this print, which (including farming) is about 16,5" x 15.25."

I believe it is a linocut print titled, "Birth of Onie."

    https://www.momjunction.com/baby-names/onie/

It looks like the name written on the back is "Carmin W Devini" and the sig under the print is "CW Divini 62"

It also looks like the place it was framed, Golden Door Gallery, is still in business and the number is the same!

    https://picture-and-print-retailers.cmac.ws/golden-door-gallery/10052/

    Thanks in advance for any help on this one. 25f4693e-6a36-49e4-b4c2-77f0ca6b0f3e (1).jpeg 90b9bd18-e668-4584-9865-e8a273b15253 (1).jpeg b9ce7b6f-5ec8-42c0-9947-0d2964a47c1e.jpeg 5396bb65-2152-4c3e-b6a5-55cbda874f19.jpeg e14cb9ad-5f0a-4c77-85cb-12092f96d419.jpeg 4760d883-0610-427a-9109-f128d1bb61a2.jpeg 548ce96d-180a-47cf-bb8a-d17d0c770242.jpeg

Thx. . . looks like he's Carmine Devivi (with a v, not an n, at the end) 1929-2017. Trying to find a history of sales, if any.

I read 'One', and it looks like the baby is in a manger in what could be a stable. So maybe One is 'the One', Jesus.
It says it could be a Dutch name, which it isn't. It is a cute name, but maybe not relevant in this case.

Your piece would have been created when he was the Art department chair at Hill School in Pottstown, PA. Early in his career. And, given a nativity scene, I agree with "One."

I also thought maybe a manger scene, but no Joseph.

A friend of a friend sent me this, from Carmine's daughter, Skye:

    Carmine Devivi - Artist’s Biography

Carmine Devivi was a painter, printmaker, sculptor, and a teacher. He served in the United States Air Force and then received his BFA at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA and his MFA from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA where he studied with painters Angelo Savelli, Piero Durazio and Sculptor, James House Jr. He taught fine arts to college and high school students and was an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and a collector of art and craft from all over the world. He was passionate about the arts and instrumental in developing fine arts and creative arts centers throughout the United States while tirelessly working to perfect his craft, working in all forms of media until his death in 2017, when he was laid to rest at The National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He lived and worked all over the United States and traveled the world, but he always felt his home was Corrales, NM.
