Featured Lithophane Mt. Fuji? teacup

    Any idea on the age? Sorry if the mark is the wrong way, let me know and I’ll correct. Thank you for looking. :)

    I'd guess it's post WW II based on the color scheme. The earlier pieces seem to be more brightly colored. And yes, I would say Mt. Fuji. JMHO.

    My late brother in law was a seaman in the early fifties. When their ship docked in Japan, lots of the sailors paid for a teaset like this one to be shipped back to loved ones as presents. My BIL sent one to his mother, grandmother and aunty. They were sent by the sellers and all arrived safely. Teapots were include with the sets. Eventually, with the passing of time my sister ended up with all three sets. She did not like them, so after a few years she gave them all away.

    I just have a few, for decoration on the mantle, nothing terribly rare. Then they spread to a window sill, so I decided I was done. But, I always wanted one of these, so now Where to put it? :rolleyes:
