Hello Board Friends - I have acquired a set of six little tubs that I think are silver plate. I'm just not sure what they are for - individual nut dishes or butter tubs? Seem a bit a large for salts. They measures 1 3/4" tall x 2 3/4" long x 2 1/4" wide. No markings or either the metal or the box. Any help with these would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Don, I'm thinking they're for nuts or mints. They remind me of the little dishes my Grandma would set out when it was her turn to have "the ladies" over for pinochle!

Cannot be for butter with no way to keep the butter cold. I agree nuts (or bridge mix.)

Really. I'm surprised at the whole lot of you that their size hasn't already given away their purpose.
