Featured Little meissen ? Dish

Hey guys

Can anyone tell if this is a genuine meissen piece

Didn't pay anywhere near the price tag that's on it(won't come off!!)

I'm 50/50 on whether Its right or not
There's an impressed numbers 3, near mark

Any help appreciated

 

I dunno for sure because the quality of the painting doesn’t seem good enough to me. However, if it is, then the scratch means that it’s is a second — or at least, that’s what I’ve been told.

 

Very pretty. It might be a Meissen blank decorated by someone else. As kentworld said, the scratch is a cancellation mark and indicates a factory second.

 

It's too bad about the price tag not coming off. Maybe soaking it in water for a long time would help?

 

Yeah hopefully, I've only tried picking at it, that might do the trick !

 

Be careful soaking it in water. If the decoration is cold painted, even if only some of it is cold painted, soaking it will ruin it.

Peel off what you can of the label, and use cotton swabs or something to soak only the label, and don't let the water run everywhere.

It is a cutie.
I would soak the label with some alcohol on cotton wool.
(It'll get so drunk it won't even notice when you wipe it off. )

 

Or I'll get so drunk, I won't even notice where the label is !!

 

Or you'll both get drunk, and have a fun evening.
