Featured Little oil painting- comments please

Hi all,I like this borderline vintage little decorative painting. I read the signature as Schalk Burger ‘82 (signed bottom left corner) Do you agree? Difficult to search anything ‘Schalk Burger’ in the South African context because of the famous rugby player (Jr. born 1983) Maybe his father Schalk Burger Snr painted it? (but I couldn’t find any record of him ever painting) So it must be a different Schalk Burger all together? Frame size 30x38cm. The farmers stickers reads: Bloubergrant 7443 (so it’s local) Thanks for any thoughts. Maybe I should just try and e-mail Schalk Snr and ask him.

 

I like it Bol-to me it's a blend of moody German Expressionist w/ 60's quick gestural cityscape.IMHO if you put your hand over the street & 2 little figures it really comes together.
I do think it's a cut above this (1st Dibs MCM Heller-$9200 )-

You can't really without defacing the artist's orig intention.I'd just like to see a few of the upper colors pulled down into the street ,IMHO- just feels bit unfinished.
PS-Yes,please enlarge framers label.If this is indeed by a German artist-it def has a brooding East Berlin vibe,the Wall fell in '89.

Thanks for the comments all. Unfortunately not much left of the label. Bloubergrant has the postal code 7443. Bloubergrant is located in the Northern parts of Cape Metropole and is a suburb in the Milnerton area. Personally I still think the artist is South African.

Great. Thanks for this. It’s interesting now obviously that looks like a ‘n’.. But yes,that won’t make sense at all..More so if the weird ‘S’ is infact a ‘F’

 

Looking at it again,I personally still think that ‘n’ is actually a vague ‘a’.. But who knows
