These are very cute and only 3" wide. They are signed, but I can't read the signature. I'm thinking they are from South America or Mexico - has anyone seen something similar? Thanks!

I have seen those ridges on the backs of tiles from Mexico.
If you were to peel the paper off of one there may be a mark on the back.
The paper was probably put on to keep it from scratching the wall. And you can always put another piece of paper back on.

If I were going to take the paper off, I would lay a damp (not soaking wet) paper towel over the paper and leave it for half an hour. Then come back and try and lift it off.

I would not soak the tile as it may be unbaked and water might damage it.

Wait for other suggestions before trying this.
I might be wrong in how to go about taking the paper off.

I will give it a try. The tile is fired, so I don't have to worry about the paint dripping. Thanks
