little porcelain doll, so ugly it's cute!

    Another of my Mom's little treasures! The doll is porcelain and has some very nice hand made clothing. The face is hand painted but some of the paint has worn off, The doll is just over 2 1/2" long and has moveable arms and legs. It appears there is some sort of marking on the back but I could not make it out. Any thoughts?

    Does it look like JAPAN to you? Not that I have any idea if it might.

    My first thought was Japan.

    I think it's made of stone bisque.
